Laoshan Taoism Music: At first, Laoshan Taoism music came into being by combing ancient folk music and folk chants to give a strong artistic representation. Later, it integrated the popular national “Shifang Rhymes”. Then in the Jin Dynasty, a Taoist named Beiqizhen and especially Rev. Qiuchuji, came to Lao shan to give religious instructions and brought the : 'Shifang Taoism Music' into the Laoshan school. As a result, the Laoshan School was divided into two subschools: Local and Foreign, The foreign school used wind and string instruments and staged performances for common people, which led to the flourishing develoment of local folk music.
