Dragon Lantern Dance

Dragon Lantern Dance: This dance was popular in two areas of Laoshan. One is Wulong Village in Beizhai Town , which was known for its dragon performances during the Spring Festival in Jimo using an 11-meter gray dragon with 9-sections.The other is Sunjiaxia Village in Zhonghan Town, where 40-meter long dragons with candles inside the dragon’s body to light them up. The custom started in the 29th year of Guangxu’s Reign during the Qing Dynasty(1903)
