Jiaozhou Yangge Dance: The Jiao zhou Yangge Dance started during the Qing Dynasty and is one of the three Yangge dance forms in Shandong Province with a 230 year history. Originally, it was an art form created by begggars. Later, it integrated other art forms such as dancing, singing, piping and drumming, gradually developing to the present-day Yangge dance. Usually it is performed by 10 dancers who play different roles and dance with prescribed gestures. It can be accompanied by 30-odd instruments including the suona, the gong, drums and other instruments.
